Keto Almond Halwa Sheera

Keto Halwa or Sheera is a quick recreation of dessert offering that we make for God. I make this Sheer or Halwa in the original way, using semolina for a Pooja(ritual) at my husband’s office. Everyone love it and I felt like I owed it to myself and you guys to recreate it in the keto way. So as soon as I got home I recorded this video. This one is much easier and quicker than the real one. That one take 7-10 minutes of roasting the semolina in ghee on a low burner. If you do this step patiently the result is fabulous. But this one is a real quick one. Especially because it made from almond flour which had fat and is notorious for burning if you don’t keep a close eye. I hope you guys try it out and let me know what you feel. It is sweet rich and pure. If you haven’t had halwa ever before you may be in for a surprise.

The semolina version is a little starchy and gooey while this one grainy, but that always happens with the keto stuff. The keto halwa does recreate the taste to a great extent. I am still working on how to get the starchy texture. I am sure adding a little psyllium husk may do it. That one is for the next time. Leave me your feedback. Happy Cooking!
