  • 1 cup sugar (200 g)
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour (133 g)
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 cup chopped apples (100 g)
  • 1/2 cup toasted pecans (53 g)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Toast pecans in a small pan over medium heat until fragrant; set aside.
  3. Peel, core, and chop apples into small chunks.
  4. In a mixing bowl, cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add egg and mix until smooth.
  5. Combine flour, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon; fold into the butter mixture until just combined.
  6. Gently fold in chopped apples and toasted pecans.
  7. Pour batter into a greased 8×8 baking dish and spread evenly.
  8. Bake for 30-45 minutes or until golden brown on top.
  9. Allow to cool for about 15 minutes before slicing.
