  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened

  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 cup whole milk
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tablespoon milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a muffin tin with cupcake liners.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, cream together softened butter and sugar until fluffy. Add eggs one by one, mixing well after each addition. Stir in vanilla extract.
  4. Alternate adding the dry mixture and sour cream into the butter mixture until just combined. Mix in whole milk gently until smooth.
  5. Prepare the cinnamon swirl by mixing brown sugar and cinnamon with melted butter until it forms a paste.
  6. Fill each cupcake liner with batter and add spoonfuls of the cinnamon mixture; swirl gently with a toothpick.
  7. Bake for 18-22 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean. Let cool before glazing.
