  • 1 box (15.25 oz) vanilla cake mix
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 8 oz cream cheese (softened)
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking pan.
  2. In a large bowl, mix the vanilla cake mix, water, vegetable oil, and eggs until smooth. Pour half of the batter into the prepared pan.
  3. In another bowl, combine softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until creamy. Spread over the batter in the pan.
  4. Pour the remaining batter on top of the cream cheese layer.
  5. Whisk together cocoa powder and milk and drizzle over the top layer for a marbled effect.
  6. Sprinkle chocolate chips on top before baking for about 40-45 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  7. Allow to cool completely before serving.
