  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 3 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 1/3 cup light brown sugar, packed
  • 1 tbsp cinnamon
  • 3/8 tsp nutmeg
  • 1/4 tsp allspice
  • 1/4 tsp ground cloves
  • pinch of salt
  • 1 and 1/2 cups salted butter, melted
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups old-fashioned rolled oats
  • 1 and 1/2 cups light brown sugar, packed
  • 1 and 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 6 tbsp salted butter, cubed
  • 1/2 cup + 1 tbsp heavy cream
  • pinch of fine sea salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a 9×13-inch pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, toss sliced apples with lemon juice, flour, brown sugar, and spices; set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, melt butter and mix with remaining crust ingredients until crumbly.
  4. Press half the mixture into the prepared pan, layer with apple filling, then sprinkle remaining crumble on top.
  5. Bake for 38-45 minutes until golden brown; cool before slicing.
  6. Prepare salted caramel sauce while baking for drizzling.
